Protect Your Precious Skin  Summer days may lure you outdoors, but remember to guard against too much sun.  Use sunscreens and lip balms with an SPF of at least 15 – even on cloudy days.  Also wear sunglasses, a wide-brimmed hat, long sleeves and long pants. When possible, avoid direct sunlight between 10am and 4pm when UV rays are strongest.

Radon Kits available at the GCHD, please stop by, pick-up a kit to have your home tested for the cancer causing Radon gas that is naturally occurring, invisible, oderless, and tasteless gas that comes from deposits of uranium in soil, rock and water.  It is harmlessly dispersed in outdoor air, but is harmful when trapped in homes/buildings at elevated levels.

Note: Is your family prepared to take care of themselves in case of a disaster?  Do you have a Family Disaster Kit at home? Visit the Grant County Health Department, and see an example of a kit.  You can go to our web page to see the information for making a disaster kit.
